Most of us would know the story of the Gingerbread man who sings that very catchy tune. I think I have read the book a million times to my girls.
The Ginger Factory on the Sunshine Coast is full of enjoyment whether you are a ginger lover or not.
HOW YOU CAN SPEND YOUR DAY AT THE GINGER FACTORY
- Take a trip on Moreton; it is an 115-year-old ginger train that takes you on a tour of the grounds and gives insight into the gingerbread
- Venture inside to the overboard boat ride where you cruise around in air-conditioned comfort finding the gingerbread man in the different countries.
- Visit a bee presentation and discover the secrets of a bee hive.
- Take a walk through the tranquil sub-tropical rainforest
The gated undercover playground is in a perfect location right next to the cafe. There are lots of activities for children to enjoy including tunnels; stairs to climb on; slides; balancing ropes. There is also a separate toddler zone for children aged four years and under.
If you don’t pack your own, the Ginger Café is fully licensed and serves a range of meals, and there is also a delicious ice-creamery for dessert. You may even be able to get up close and personal to the Ginger Factory wildlife.
Don’t forget to stop at the store before you leave to collect some ginger merchandise. This shop stocks the largest selection of Buderim Ginger products in the world! We can personally recommend the Buderim Ginger Lemon Lime and Bitters Cordial. Mix it with some soda water, and you have a refreshing drink on a hot day. The honey lollipops were also a big hit for us and the kids.
We purchased our tickets from The Ginger Factory when we arrived, and as most of the attractions are at an additional cost, it is better value to buy one of their inclusive pass deals. For example, we chose the Ride Double Deal which included access to Overboard & the Ginger Train.
The Ginger Factory is at 50 Pioneer Road, Yandina, QLD. Approximately a 1 ¼ hour drive from Brisbane or 35 minutes from Noosa.
Open daily 9:00 am – 5.00pm with free admission
